Research & Initiatives
Implementation of existing protocols and the development of new protocols for the effective differentiation of hiPSCs to scalable and reproducible cell types useful for basic and translational research studies.

We apply 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional cell culture platforms that can be used for complex, multi-cell type cultures as well as in-vitro organ systems.
Establishing a human relevant Brain-On-a-Chip platform for elucidating pathways and cellular dysfunction in Parkinson’s disease. Data obtained from
research groups headed by Prof. Uri Ashery and Dr. Ben Maoz.

Identification of human iPSC-derived DA neurons TH, EN1 and TUJ1 immunostaining showing human iPSCs-derived DA neurons after 36 days of differentiation. Scale bar, 100μm.

Calcium imaging of human iPSC-derived DA neurons day 36 of differentiation (A) Human iPSCs derived DA neurons loaded with Fluo-4-AM. Scale bar, 20μm. (B) Recording of intracellular calcium level during spontaneous activity (blue trace) compared to changes in intracellular calcium in response to KCl (10 mM; orange trace) Scale bar, 20 μm.
