Our Vision

At the iPSC Differentiation Center, we envision a future where stem cell-based research and therapies are accessible, scalable, and transformative. By practicing robust, reproducible, and widely applicable differentiation protocols, we aim to bridge the gap between fundamental stem cell research and real-world clinical and pharmaceutical applications. Our mission is to provide an open-access, collaborative hub for innovation, accelerating discoveries in disease modeling, drug development, and regenerative medicine.

The iPSC Differentiation Center at Tel Aviv University is dedicated to advancing stem cell research by overcoming one of the major bottlenecks in the field: the complex and labor-intensive process of iPSC differentiation. Our center provides a comprehensive, standardized approach to generating high-quality differentiated cells across multiple tissue types, empowering researchers nationwide to harness the full potential of iPSCs for biomedical applications.

In the core facility we have established the ability to differentiate iPSCs into multiple cell types derived from all three germ lineages – ectoderm, mesoderm, and endoderm. Our protocols enable the efficient generation of neural cells from the ectoderm, hematopoietic and cardiac cells from the mesoderm, and hepatic and pancreatic cells from the endoderm. This approach ensures that we can support a broad spectrum of research applications, from neurodegenerative disease modeling to cardiac regeneration and metabolic disorders.

Additionally, we specialize in tailoring differentiation protocols for patient-derived iPSCs, allowing researchers to study disease mechanisms in a personalized context. By leveraging patient-specific iPSCs, we enable the generation of models that accurately represent individual genetic backgrounds and disease phenotypes, facilitating the development of targeted therapies and precision medicine approaches. Our commitment to adaptability ensures that each protocol is optimized for reproducibility, scalability, and functional maturity, making stem cell-based research more accessible and impactful.
